Dr. Harris is Board-Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as Subspecialty Board-Certified in Pain Medicine. He graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1988 and completed his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1992. He has been in active medical practice in Austin, Texas since 1992. He treats common problems of the neck and back such as herniated discs, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, facet syndrome, and most other causes of spine pain, with additional expertise in management of related upper and lower extremity orthopedic problems. He has had extensive training in the use of physical therapy, fluoroscope and ultrasound guided injection techniques including epidural injections, spinal nerve blocks, facet joint injections, radiofrequency denervation, nucleoplasty, chemodenervation, prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma, and autologous stem cell injection for cartilage and joint repair. He also has experience using ultrasound guidance for treating musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, ligament injuries, and tendon injuries. He has taught other physicians at the state, national, and international level and has taught on faculty in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He was Associate Medical Director at St. David's Rehabilitation Center from 1992-2001. Our office is centrally located in Austin near the intersection of Loop 360 and Highway 2222, at the entrance to the Lakewood subdivision. We have an in-office fluoroscopic interventional suite and also have in-office ultrasound guidance, to provide state-of-the-art precision and safety for a myriad of injection procedures. We take most local medical insurance plans, although Regenerative Medicine techniques are generally not yet covered by insurance.
