Dr. Gay brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field of pain management in Anchorage and the surrounding areas. Having completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University and his medical studies at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Gay continued on to complete residency and fellowship training at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. This has consistently been ranked one of the top 5 hospitals in the country. While there, Dr. Gay was trained by many of the top thought leaders in the fields of Anesthesiology and Pain Management and was also involved in research as part of the Apgar scholars program. This program was created in honor of Dr. Virginia Apgar, whose research resulted in the commonly recognized APGAR scores assigned to newborn babies.
Board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology, Dr. Gay consistently delivers high-quality care in a compassionate manner. He utilizes appropriate interventions and incorporates integrative modalities to ensure the best possible results. Primarily interventional in his treatments, Dr. Gay also utilizes conservative medication management in select patients in conjunction with appropriate screening and risk stratification.
