About Our Practice
Dr. Rhee is a nationally renowned expert in the field of spinal surgery. As an Emory University professor, he receives referrals from throughout the country seeking his expertise, especially on complex cases other surgeons are unable to operate on. His particular fields of expertise are in the cervical spine, tumors of the spine, and thoracolumbar spinal conditions. He is a sought after national speaker and lecturer on spine surgical techniques and outcomes, author of dozens of articles relating to the spine, and is the editor of several key textbooks on the spine. Dr. Rhee teaches and trains other spinal surgeons at universities across the country in the latest surgical techniques.
His practice includes both common and complex problems, as well as minimally invasive techniques, recommending surgery only for those who are truly likely to benefit. He operates at the Emory University Orthopedics and Spine Hospital, which in 2009 received the nation's highest patient satisfaction score out of 1,028 hospitals surveyed (which included local community hospitals such as Piedmont, Northside, Wellstar, and Dekalb, as well as national medical centers such as Yale, John Hopkins, Duke, and Cleveland Clinic).
Dr. Rhee graduated from college Phi Beta Kappa at Stanford University and Alpha Omega Alpha from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco.
