About Our Practice
Dr. Michael Fehlings has expertise in complex spinal surgery, with his practice consisting largely of traumatic spinal cord injury, tumor removal, degenerative cervical myelopathy, spinal microsurgery, as well as assessment and management of complex spinal conditions.
Dr. Fehlings has been a Neurosurgeon at Toronto Western Hospital for over 25 years and he leads an innovative and productive translationally oriented research program focused on discovering novel treatments for the injured brain and spinal cord. He is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist and in 2017 he led efforts to develop clinical practice guidelines for the management of degenerative cervical myelopathy and traumatic spinal cord injury.
