About Our Practice

Dr. Sandhu, MD is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Medicine. Following residency and fellowship training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Michigan, Dr. Sandhu practiced for a number of years in Jacksonville Beach, Florida before joining the Toronto Poly Clinic.
Dr. Sandhu performs interventional procedures on patient's spine using image guidance (fluoroscopy) in the practice's surgical suite.
He will explain the patient's diagnose and possible treatment options, after thoroughly examining the patient and reviewing their radiological imaging.

Conditions treated include:
Cervical Radiculopathy (Pain in the neck radiating down the arm from compression of nerve roots);
- Source of pain may be from a herniated disc in the neck, spinal stenosis, and/or bony spurs compressing nerve roots.

Cervical Spondylosis (Pain from the joints in the neck that can also be a source of headaches);
- Source of pain may be from arthritis in the neck, aggravation of facet joints in neck after an injury ex. whiplash.

Lumbar Radiculopathy (Pain in the lower back radiating down the legs, commonly referred as sciatica);
- Source of pain may be from a herniated lumbar disc, annular tear in a disc, spinal stenosis and/or bony spurs compressing nerve roots.

Lumbar Spondylosis (Pain from the joints in the lower back which worsen when leaning backwards and with rotation);
- Source of pain may be from arthritis in the joints in the lower spine

Lumbar Post-Laminectomy Syndrome (Continued lower back pain despite corrective lumbar spine surgery);
- Source of pain may be from arthritis developing above and below fusion site, aggravation of the sacroiliac joints, scar tissue in the spinal canal.

Sacroilitis (Pain below the lumbar spine in the upper buttock region);
- Source of pain is commonly due to a leg length discrepancy.

Complex Region Pain Syndrome in upper and lower extremities

Osteoarthritis (Shoulders, Hips, Knees)

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Procedures Performed with Fluoroscopy Image Guidance:
Cervical epidural steroid injection
Lumbar epidural steroid injection targeting selective nerve roots
Caudal Lysis of Adhension to break up scar tissue from prior surgeries
Radiofrequency Ablation to treat arthritis pain of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine, sacroiliac and knee joints
Stellate Ganglion, Celiac Plexus, Lumbar Sympathetic Plexus, Superior Hypogastric Plexus injection
Hip and Knee Joint injection (Platelet Rich Plasma available)
Supraspinatus nerve injection

Procedures Performed with Ultrasound Image Guidance:
Shoulder injection (Platelet Rich Plasma available)
Carpal Tunnel Injection (Hydro-dissection)
