BOCA RATON, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2002) – SpineUniverse.com and Five Star Productions today announced an agreement to produce spine-related segments for “Today’s Health,” the national network television series hosted by tennis star Chris Evert that reaches over 94 million U.S. television households and has been globally syndicated to over 32 counties.

Several spine-related TV shows are scheduled to be produced and aired within the first half of 2003, which marks the eighth season of the Emmy-nominated “Today’s Health.” The segments will address recent advances in spine and pain treatments, such as minimally invasive surgery and new bone fusion techniques, and will demonstrate the outstanding care that spine surgeons and physicians provide patients.

“Working in partnership with Five Star Productions enables us to complete our global mission to educate the consumer about breakthroughs in spine care and pain management technologies. We firmly believe that better education brings about better treatment,” said Dr. Stewart Eidelson, co-founder of SpineUniverse.com. “There has been a real renaissance of care and technology and we believe this partnership will go a long way to helping patients learn about these breakthroughs.”

“This is an exciting partnership which merges television and Internet technologies that will reach more people than each media could separately,” said David Larson, vice president of program development for Five Star Productions. “Health is the No. 1 reason people go to the Internet. This is a great opportunity to educate people, both from a physician and patient standpoint.”

The show’s host, Chris Evert, was ranked the No. 1 tennis player in the world for seven years and has 18 Grand Slam titles.
