Nitrogen gas in spine?

Started by missyp997 on 04/10/2012 9:51pm

I am 38 and have had 3 lumbar surgeries-L4 L5X2 and L5 S1 one time.My last surgery was May 2011. I recently had an MRI and I was reading the report and there is something I can't figure out. IT says: There is a small nonspecific focus of susceptibility artifact in the right subarticular recess, which could be related to nitrogen gas. Anyone know what that means? I tried searching the internet but couldn''t find anything. Thanks for your help!
