Hello my name is megan. I'm a new member. Friday 4-15 I had a lumbar fusion at L4-L5. I had grade 2 spoonful plus thesis and stenosis. I'm 29 years old. I'm wondering is there anybody out there my age who has had the same or similar procedure done? And how has it worked out for you???

Hi Megan,
I had a PLIF fusion of L5-S1 for spondylosethesis. My surgery was 5.5 months ago, when I was 34 (I just turned 35). How have you felt so far? I went back to work, etc. - but recovery has taken a lot longer than anticipated. I am still in quite a bit of pain, unfortunately. I am trying to schedule a second opinion as my surgeon admitted this slow recovery isn't normal. I really hope you have a smooth and fast recovery! I hope mine will end up OK, time will tell. Be very careful during your recovery and follow your doctor's orders. I hope you have help at home so you can be sure to follow the BLT, no bending, lifting, twisting. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you Nicole for responding. I'm 8 days post op today and feeling as good as can be expected. With your recovery did you ever have horrible pain in one of your legs and foot numbness? I had that before surgery but now after surgery its so much worse than before. The doctor tells me it should all be temporary. It better be!
