Loose Pedicle Screw

Started by ashw on 06/26/2020 5:17pm

Hello,

A brief background, I originally had pars fractures on the L-5 with grade 1 spondylolisthesis. In 2018, they recommended a pars repair due to the pain I was having. I went through with the surgery and was recovering nicely and then started experiencing pain again. I was told A year later that my pars is still open and didn't heal. They went back in to do a full fusion and I am about 6 months post-op. Again, I was healing well and now I am experiencing pain again.

I just got a CT and the CT showed that I have a loosening pedicle screw on the left side on the S1. I was curious if I should be concerned about this. I am experiencing a lot of leg pain and also feels like I am constantly starting my back.

Has anyone else had a loose pedicle screw? if so, what do the surgeons normally do? Also, has anyone parts fracture do not want to fuse?

Thanks!
