Numb toes and feet

Started by Goldbearmik on 05/13/2019 3:26am

I have constant numbness of my feet, mainly the toes, and area behind the toes, and heels. Numbness is also present on top of feet, all the way to my ankles.
Can back surgery allow the feeling to completely return? I have been told I have a “L4/5 back disease and spinal stenosis.”
I am 73 years of age, and a bit concerned about the surgery at my age. I have also heard about injections that can help with this issue.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks...
Mike

I would try injections before surgery. Anything to avoid surgery. Open back surgery is very difficult to heal from and in most cases leads to more surgery. If I could turn back time I would do anything other than surgery. This is only my opinion but please exhaust all other avenues first. Once it's done you can't take it back. I'm 46, had spinal fusion c3-c7 six months ago and it's all but ruined my life. I just thought I had pain & problems before! Do research please. Pins & needles in your feet are manageable compared to what could potentially happen. God bless.
