Cervical fusion, dealing with nerve issues

Started by Dom on 10/04/2018 10:50pm

I had cervical fusion C3 - T1 due to a diving injury back in 2011. Though i have healed since then and have a blessed life full of activity, I deal with nerve problems down my left arm. I dont know how to discribe it other than its an itch that WILL NOT go away. Its so bad I scratch my skin to the point of bleeding sores. I Normally dont find relief for this issue it is something I desperately need to resolve. Please help if you have any info or can relate in some way.

I have same issues. I have had 3 cervical fusions and the last one was done in 2003; C3-T2. I have been considering a nerve ablation for the long thoracic nerve. I had an impingement of this nerve a year ago that put me in the hospital for 5 days. I have been battling the return of that problem since it’s initial onset. You might speak with your neurosurgeon about this procedure. I would also recommend finding a good physical therapist who specializes in the neck. I also find that deep tissue massage helps, especially working out the knots in the traps and scapula areas. I feel ya. Living with chronic pain is so depressing.
