Cervical problems and now heavy feeling in leg

Started by gandalf456 on 04/15/2016 4:26am

I know I have degenerated discs from c5 to c7. C7 is definitely pressing on the nerves but I always had arm symptoms. Now my right leg is heavy - especially upstairs. Sometimes I get a slight limp.

When I had physiotherapy, the therapist suggested it was a lower back issue. I am not so sure. Could this be coming from the neck on just one side?

No, leg symptoms come from lower down the spine. Cervical spine problems result in pain to the neck, shoulders, upper back, arms, and hands. Degenerative disc disease can affect any part of your spine, so you should ask your neurosurgeon to do an MRI of whichever part of your spine might be the problem.

Thank you, Bonny. I have a doctor's appointment booked to confirm. I still haven't heard from the surgeon. I don't know if this is the right route.
