ssdi Finally approved on second claim, fully favorable !!

Started by sunnyd50 on 08/26/2011 9:41pm

hi all ! i put detailed info under the ssdi topic that i started a long time ago... but will post basic info here..
I had an alj hearing on aug 9 2011, got a "bench decision" fully favorable, after about 30 minutes in the hearing ! this does not happen often... onset date was set to early sept 2008 ! due to the fact my first claim is at fed district court, he could only onset my ssdi to early sept 2008 (just after the first alj signed and dated the denial)...
got my approval letter a week later, and it was dated aug 16, local & 800 number for ssa both confirmed it has been at the payment center since between aug 16 & 19. so now waiting on award letter stating how much backpay, monthly benefits, and when i will receive them.. as i had gotten the senators involved after recon denial they have already notified them of the approval, and they know they (ssa) is being watched for timeliness, so i should be hearing something really soon... right now i have been reading on another forum i am a member of, that some people are getting their backpay and first check before they receive their award letters.. so all i can do is call the bank everyday to see if anything has shown up in my account, and to keep check with the 800 # and local ssa offices for updates... senator said they have to have my backpay to me within 60 days of the date on the letter, so that is oct 16.. will update when i hear more.. meanwhile, it has been a long battle that still is not over (my first claim still at dist court), to resolve my first claim one way or other... for for now, yippeeeeee!!

I am glad for your Struggle ended in success. From 2011 to now you wonder why Health Insurances don;t just pay up. Federal Court is a big deal, At this time, I am trying to put my Appeal together but I have missing the Precedents -how many cases were done at Stenum Hospital with Artificial Disc Replacement with M6 Cervical Neck. I had a fusion at C5/6 and ADR C4/5 with an M6. Appreciate any help. Thanks, Hoover2012m.
