How to handle flare/ reherniation

Started by Alon Chen on 08/12/2017 5:48pm

Hey guys i just got a flareup or reherniation few days ago and bad sciatica pain in both legs. Makes it very hard to stand, sit...cant be on feet for more than 15 min without needing to lay down for pain to subside. Laying down is my only relief. My job in sales requires me to be on my feet for 8 hours and dont know how can do it. Should i just stay home so i can keep laying down and wait for it to get better or go to work take perhaps some pain killers and barrel through the pain? On one side i dont want to aggrevate the problem but i know that prolonged bed rest can create additional problems. Dunno what to do, What you guys think is better for my recovery?

Thanks

Hi, Alon Chen--thanks for your post! Our best advice is to contact your doctor. He or she will provide you the best advice to manage your pain, given your specific symptoms and medical history.

We also have an article about herniated disc treatments, and it includes some information about effective non-surgical treatments ( Herniated Disc Treatment ).

We hope this information helps and hope you find relief soon!
