19yrs Old 3 Herniated Discs and Spinal Stenosis Surgery?

Started by 128265551175177... on 02/20/2016 9:48pm

I am 19 years old and at 14 I found out I had 3 herniated discs and spinal stenosis. For years I have tried everything out there. Physical Therapy, Aqua Therapy, decompression tables, chiropractors, osteopaths, acupuncture, massage, tens units, injections, narcotic meds., anti-inflammatory, nerve blocking meds, everything. In 2013 I had a discectomy at L4 L5 and felt great, but I went back to my high intensity training for collegiate softball(which I had to give up). Slowly I got worse and worse and went back to trying therapy and core strengthening. Now at 19 I cannot not walk more then 50 feet without having to sit down. Going up and down the stairs takes forever. I am now at the point where I can't handle it anymore. I had to drop out of my second semester of college because I couldn't get to class. I think I should get a Laminectomy on L5 S1 and L3 L4 to fix the leg pain. I don't plan on doing anything more difficult then walking. Is this a good idea? I am only 19 and I don't want this to run my life. What should I do?
