back pain

Started by L5pain on 10/12/2015 9:43pm

I Was at work felt a mild twinge in my lower back and kept working. The next 2-3 days the pain shot down my right leg and numd foot. This happened about 5 weeks ago. The pain is not as severe now but I am unable to sit on a chair. I saw a neurologist looked at my MRI for not even a minute and said I need surgery, and that there is no other alternative for treatment. I always thought surgery would be the last option.

What did your neurologist say that he/she saw on the MRI? What type of surgery was recommended and in what area? Have you had back symptoms before this?
