19 years old with Spinal Stenosis and a herniated disc.

Hello,
I am currently 19 years old and have been recently diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and a Herniated Disc. The pain so so bad, that I can't sit in class I can't walk around campus, I can't even lay in bed without a spasm or stabbing pain throughout my lower body. I was wondering if anyone out there agrees with me on getting surgery. I have been trying to research the surgery, but all of the cases are with 50+ year olds, so they don't really apply to me. I just need someone to help me out on the decision, since I do not know much about these problems. Thank You for your help! =)
