Fibromyalgia and Stress

Started by 1386303404@facebook on 04/13/2012 2:48pm

After reading through all of the various discussion topics, I was beginning to think that what I am going through is not as severe as what most of you are going through, but make no mistake - I am miserable from a day to day basis. I also have RA, depression, rls, diverticulitis, IBS and many, many more things that are common with fibro, including insomnia and sleep apnea. If there are anyone else who would like to discuss with me how you cope, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you!

I also have fibromyalgia, DDD, insomnia, sleep apnea and toss in restless leg syndrome -- it makes for a very uncomfortable life. I have found that Lyrica helps with the fibromyalgia, Zolidipen for insomnia and use my CPAP nightly. I am able to take Tylenol #4 for my DDD pain with some relief but the arthritis makes it difficult to control and am unable to take anti-inflammatories due to an acute renal failure last summer. I'm struggling day to day but giving up is not an option as I believe strides are being made for our benefit in the research of diseases but patience is not one of my virtues and it's difficult to wait for whatever relief the future holds. Know you are not alone but in the boat with many of us....you're in good company!

Hi Joyce,
I have all the same things you have (you can read my previous post),along with swelling and pain in hands every night that wakes me up out of my sleep. You did not mention if you have had an EMG study done to test for carpal tunnel syndrome.I did and it said i have moderate nerve compression in my arms. Many of these ailments are intertwined and connected in some way or another, which can make it hard sometimes for doctors to come up with an accurate diagnosis.Fibromyalgia is usually diagnosed by negative lab work on all of the other auto immune disorders ,along with having multiple trigger points.Ask the doctor if you can be tested again for rheumatoid arthritis,as sometimes it can be weakly positive.Hope this helps.Take care, and God Bless.
