Use of anti-inflammatory meds

Started by mikez on 05/23/2012 12:55pm

I've had Lumbar fusion at L4/L5 and have not used anti-inflammatory med since 10 days prior to surgery. It is now 2 months post......when is it safe to start them, so as not to interfere with healing process

My doctor told me 3 months post surgery without anti-inflammatory meds.. I really need to take them for my arthritis. I am sure different doctors have different opinions about this.

I have wondered if anti-inflammatory or muscle relaxants will help the *chronic pain j have around my Fusion / Cage Wrap Area L-4,5 - S-1 . With any physical activity , it feels like the muscles tighten up around the scar tissue in my lower back . I seem to be laying down more than standing lately , due to the cramping ache pain level ? The doctor knowingly says ... just "live with it". Either they don't want to do anything ... or can't from two surgeries ? MRI's show nothing major .After 11 yrs. of living with this , i'm tired . Could Arthritus be a factor / i am 69 . ???
