Scoliosis at 76 years young-help!

Started by nancytheknitter on 02/22/2019 5:40am

I am 76 in 2019. I found out about my scoliosis in 2012 after a car accident. I am in considerable pain and now walk with a limp and am beginning to look deformed. After seeing a second spine surgeon, I have undergone many tests, my heart is fine as are my lungs except my ribs are pressing on my lungs causing shortness of breath. I have lost 6 inches and am now 4'8" so all my internal organs are compressed. My curves are 23/55. I get messages and do aquatic and physical therapy . With all this I keep getting worse. At my "advanced" age surgery is not recommended.

My question is there anything else I can do and are there new advances in treatment?
