L5-S1 reconstructive spinal fusion with perm. Hardware 2 years post op

Hi everyone,

I’ve Never posted on the site like this before but I’m hoping somebody else is going through what I’m going through not that I would wish this on anyone else. I am a male 24-year-old and I’ve had three spinal operations in my lumbar area my most recent surgery was in 2016 where I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, multiple herniations mild stenosis and bilateral sciatica. The operation that was performed was a reconstructive spinal fusion with permanent instrumentation due to the spinal collapse aka spondylolisthesis. My two previous operations in 2011 which were discectomy and laminectomy’s and after the first one I had an emergency surgery shortly there after due to a durel sack tear which was repaired and redid the discectomy and laminectomy. Unfortunately this caused the surgeon to remove the two tail bones off of my vertebra at the L5-S1 which apparently was to repair the durel tear. I was not aware of this and they did not fusion me as I’m told they should have during this operation which led to me getting the operation mentioned earlier. You have some background, I am currently back on disability with chronic pain and serious foot drop symptoms in my right leg which are accompanied by nerve pain lack of mobility numbness tingling and continued bilateral sciatic pain although my left leg does not hurt as severely as my right after getting an MRI my surgeon who did my previous surgery in 2016 says I have no further deterioration or complications above my fusion area at least nothing new and is concerned that I may have torn the muscle off of my hardware in my lower back area next to my hip and spine or that I have some sort of instrumentation malfunction or even that my fusion may have been damaged at some point. I guess what I’m trying to get at is I don’t know if anyone else has ever had this issue and if so is this the rare situation for quite common? Does this require surgery again if it is one of these thing? In general lve e never had any reduction in pain after post o recovery and I was told my chronic pain leve would most likely stay there for the rest of my life. I came to terms with this and found a more suitable job and lifestyle that being said things have just gotten so much worse and I have no quality of life wel very minimal to say the least. I’m just so lost and don’t know what to do anymore bedrest only does so much and the pain still ever goes away and any activity is short lived as it cause to much pain after only a few hour maybe 3-6. I’m waiting for a CT Scan bit the insurance is giving me issues saying PT is required for 6 weeks minimum before I’m allowed to get the CT scan but yet non of my doctor or myself know what is wrong and causing so much pain. I guess if anyone has had similar problems I’d love to hear what you think like I said before I’m just lost and have no answers.... sorry this was so long.
