mild disc space narrowing at c5_c6 level

Started by raju_sahani on 07/27/2016 4:15am

From last two days all of a sudden started suffering from vertigo while standing or sleeping suddenly followed by a tendency of vomiting.
Doctor suggested for an x-ray of cervical spine and the report says "mild disc space narrowing at c5_c6 level"
Also want to add that is I am not suffering from any pain at the back.
Doctor now suggested to consult with an ENT specialist once.
I am confused please help

You didn't mention your age - but as we get older, the discs between our vertebra tend to dry out a bit and shrink. Sometimes this causes pain and sometimes it doesn't. I'm glad you haven't had to deal with any pain! Since your doctor wants you to see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, he/she may think your vertigo could be caused by an ear issue rather than related to your spine. Or just wants to rule out that as a possible cause. No need to get too concerned, just follow your doctor's advice to help identify what is causing your vertigo. Best wishes!
