Scoliosis correction surgery and osteoporosis

Started by Cwhite1478 on 07/05/2016 10:11pm

Hello,
I'm new to this site and would love any feedback regarding scoliosis correction surgery and osteoporosis. I am scheduled to have c6-t11 fusion in one month...I've read all the information I can get on surgery, preparing, what to expect pistol op, and recovery time but I haven't seen much on this surgery and osteoporosis. I am taking forteo injections daily and will through surgery and beyond. I worry about the screws in my weak nones and it really scares me. Btw I'm 57, female, crohn disease, scoliosis diagnoses 13. Double curve with right side fb prominence, 54/58 degree curves....
Thanks for any response...!
