Allergy to titaniam plate

Started by Sbaldersons on 08/01/2013 8:33pm

Had a titaniam plate implanted with screws using donor bones to fuse two vertebrae in the cervical part of my spine. C 5 and C6 this was about 8 years ago. For the past year I have had trouble swallowing and recently it has become painful.,I had a upper GI scan and the Dr. Indicated he had never seen anything like it. The esophagus is totally inflamed. Anyone out there having problems. When I talked to my original back doctor he told me no one was allergic to titanian, I ambetting this is not the case. Through some research I discovered the screws are nickel, which I am allergic to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
