law against how much narcotics can be subscribed?

Started by Bob K. on 05/20/2019 8:20pm

I started this discussion on April 17 but I am unable to post to the there. It just denies me access to posting.

I'm from Maryland and my doctor said the government will only allow him to prescribe so much pain medicine. He cut back the amount of pills by 10 a month so now I wake up in the middle of the night in pain.

He didn't say if it was state of federal gov.

Hi, BobK - I’m from Maryland, too. It is a state law limiting prescriptions. You might talk with your doctor about additional meds to help you sleep. I take trazadone which helps a lot. Are you seeing your primary care doc or pain management? A pain doc may be able to suggest more options. Best wishes!!

Hello I’ have been in Extreme pain L5 S1. Issues but now I don’t know what pain is worse, My Spinal pain or Left TESTICLE Pain. As far as a Level of pain 0 to 10, there is no comparison.
Way over 10 if I had to rate my pain I would rate it a 20. That is Left testicle pain and L5.S1. Pain. But for my Testicle pain What I found would work was Lorazepam . Just found out by a fluke one day. But Wow it really works
. I’m a firm believer that each person takes to medicine different. But if anyone has Testicle pain try Lorazepam 1. Milligram .It might work for you . It did for me.

@BonnieRae- -Can you provide a link to the MD state law about the narcotics limit please? I have not been able to find anything about it. Probably Google censorship. I have already been through water PT, numerous shots, and other things. Last time I went to pain doc he said there was nothing else for him to try. and the FDA wasn't approving anything in the near future. I take a night time sleep aid but it only helps if I take it with the 10mg of oxy.

I'm afraid to take any anti depressants or anti convulsants. Hell, I wouldn't even take the oxy or the sleep aid if they weren't helping. I really don't want to have to buy them on the street, not sure what I would be getting.

Was on vicadon 10mg for 10 yes then pain Dr put me on methadone 10mg it helped a lot but I don't want to go back on the methadone then my Dr retired so I had to find another Dr 2 months later and withdrawals from hell she put me on vicadon 7.5 325mg might as well give me a bag of M M's cause I can only take 1 every 8 hrs how is that supposed to help me? My hardware has been in since June of 2007 and this is 2019 plus the Dr in Oklahoma won't even return my phone calls cause I have a few broken screws try getting someone else to touch someone else's work they won't. Do you have any suggestions. Please cause if I have to move I will. I am so tired of hurting there are times I wish that the drunk driver would have just put me 6' under.

Oh Scooby... I am SO sorry your going thru this. I totally understand the torture you are having.

I’ve been on the Fentanyl patch for 13 years...I never failed the urine test. I had to take used patches in to show my Dr with only one or two days notice. And I’ve been with the same Dr for 11 years. Same pharmacy 12 years.

I have broken Harrington rods in my back. Scar tissue has grown around the rods and nerves have to. They could TRY to remove the rods but I would run a 70 to 80 % chance of being paralyzed

@ NatesMawMaw- Yeah a lot of unnecessary running around just to give him the old patches. Not good odds on the rod removal. Did you get a 2nd opinion from a neurosurgeon? I had an attorney tell me not to take the fentynal patch. He said there were to many people dying from them. That was in 2007
