Congenital Spinal Stenosis C-3 -C7 laminectomy And fusion

Started by Jarbar on 02/27/2019 6:53pm

My husband will be having surgery in the next couple of weeks . He is only 56, but although he continues to work , he has major weakness and numbing in the limbs . He can’t walk far and his gait seems very unsteady. It took me a long time to get him to see a surgeon but now he is glad he went. I’m trying to try to be as prepared as possible .Once he is discharged, I will be working from home in order to take care of him. Week #2 our adult kids will be helping out . I’m making sure he has plenty of button down shirts and PJ’s so that changing is easy . No over the head shirts . Because his stenosis is congenital, he has been in pain for many many years . If you have had cervical fusion can you share your experience and advice? We are going to UCLA for surgery and he has a great neurosurgeon . My husband will be a participate in a research group

Thank you
