Doctor's negligence treating pain

Started by 120926526245876... on 07/11/2016 8:54pm

I moved to CO last fall and after seeing the same pain management Doctor for over 9 years for a failed 3L lower lumbar fusion where the surgeon used way too long screws at both S1's causing bilateral lower extremity pain and CRPS of both ankles and feet. The Dr out here gave me the same dose of medicine, then started cutting my pain medicine drastically in January of this year. Before she cut my pain medication, I was having severe and debilitating break through pain daily and could only function about 4-5 days on a good week. Functioning for me was to do a little for 15-20 minutes then have to sit with legs elevated for 1/2 hour. After she/pain management dr cut my pain medication by 30 mg in January, I lost at least 6 hours of functioning per day and spent the rest of the time suffering with debilitating pain. I told her and she did not care and continued cutting my pain medication each month and handed me a pamphlet for a spinal cord stimulator implant. I begged her to wait until the Spinal Cord stimulators were put in before lowering my pain medication and told her all of the following, but she/dr acted like she didn't believe me. I have to go to #5 extra tests & I have been in too much pain or sickly fatigued from pain and had to cancel 3 appointments that I could not function to make. I also injured my neck in a car accident and it flares up so badly that I become debilitated and is also causing cervicogenic migraines. I became so debilitated that I can't keep up with my hygiene and have to live on protein shakes and bars, because I can only eat something that is ready and I can grab. My IBS flares up horribly from not eating right. I told the doctor that my days consist of going from laying in bed to laying on the couch. I told her that I've had to crawl to the bathroom... My doctor doesn't care. For her to let me go from functioning to debilitated and suffering with inhumane pain under her care, when I called my previous pain management Doctor in Cleveland, OH & told him what is going on, he said that if I could fly back there that he would put me back up to my regular dose which is above the "Morphine Equivalent Regulations "- that STATE IF THE PATIENT'S NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE OUT WEIGHS THE MEDICATION RISKS- the doctor can go above the RECOMMENDED DOSE. My pain management Doctor that knew me for almost 10 years knows about the pain that I suffer and would give me the dose that allowed me to somewhat function with some normalcy to my life -but my pain management Doctor Here does not care!! & is letting me suffer IS NEGLIGENT CARE. I am trying to get my medical records to find a new doctor and the clinic told me that it would take up to 30 days... That is uncalled for!!
