theDOCTOR INFORMED ME THAT I WOULD BE FEELING INCREASED PAIN FOR ONE TO TWO WEEKS AND THEN IT SHOULD SUBSIDE. I HAD TO GO BACK ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER AND TOLD THE DOCTOR THAT THE PERCOCET AND GABAPINTEN ARE NOT WORKING AND THE DOCTOR IS LIKE KEEP TAKING THE PERCOCET, WHICH DOESN'T HELP AND I HAVE A PAIN LEVEL OF 9. WHAT ARE SOME OTHER MEDICATIONS THAT HAVE HELPED OTHER PEOPLE? KIM

The best part of my ablation was the Novocain used prior to the procedure. That's it I shouted! The pain is gone. Unfortunately, that's not an option. Percocets are almost at the top of the food chain for pain killers. Try to get rid of the acetomtiphine in the Percocet . The active opioid in them is oxycodone. It will be kinder to your liver too. Oxycotin is time released oxycodone. The Feds dictate how much a patient can have. Cotin is for maintenance and condone is for break through pain. A cocktail using other opioids such as morphine can replace the OxyContin ,but for me was basically a nap. Start with as small of a dose as possible. Your brain is not your friend in this situation. It wants more and more and will actually create additional pain in order to get it. Seriously! Educate yourself big time. Painkiller is a misnomer. The drugs just let you brain perceive the pain differently, but. The pain is something that continues in different manners. Education is your best way to understand there is no magic wand or elixir . Humor, smiles, family and friend support along with a clinical understanding of what your fighting is your best chance. Depression is evil and can destroy a lot of positive steps. It is really very hard to wrap your mind around what's going on in your body, but it is your responsibility. To learn as much as you can. Doctors are still practicing. Good luck! Keep the faith! I may write a book for someone like yourself, cause there is no one like a patient that has been there to tell you the truth about the medical industry. I hope you have an empathetic doctor rather than a businessman doctor! Best advise, keep your cool! Most people are trying to help. Even a rare doctor sometimes.
