neck pain

Hi I am a 64 year lady I had surgery on my spinal cord over 25 years ago. I had a syst in my spinal cord they could not take it away but drained it and put in a shunt....know I have a deformity in my neck it is shaped like a swan neck....it is slowly taking a way all my ability to a normal life....my hands arms are numb coordination is going,...But my doctor says there is nothing can be done....just wondering if any one else got this problem? I am starting to think they don't want try to correct it because of my age? can any one shine any light to my problem I am in consent pain....or any one can advise on pain management I do take a lot of medication.
