8 caudal injections and gained weight

Started by melissa13 on 06/24/2014 5:45pm

I guess I have gone into having these injections a little blind. I was in a motorcycle accident August 7, 2010. I was in the hospital for 6 days with a chest tube due to a collapsed lung. My ribs were broken in the front and in my back, my clavicle was broken in half and from my chest tube under my left armpit, down to my left knee I was every single color but not of the rainbow, lol...During my stay at the hospital I was only treated for my collapsed lung and released a day after it was removed. I found out later that the placement of he break in my clavicle was the smallest amount possible away from a major artery that could have been hit during any type of movement the entire time I was in the hospital and I could have bled out in 30 seconds.

My point is that I relied on doctors while I was there and beyond that...until I started having surgeries which was almost immediately after being released from the hospital. After 8 surgeries and WONDERFUL weight loss I started having more and more aching, annoying pain and went from doctor to doctor trying to figure out what to do. After 1 doctor and a couple different injections, then another doctor and a few more injections I finally ended up at a 'pain management center' and I love it there! They treat me well and are very understanding of my pain but now, as of today, I have had 8 injections there alone! I believe if I add up all the injections I have had near 20 of them...mostly caudal steroid injections. I did get a cortisone injection last week at my surgeons office in my hip.

So, Im wondering if anyone out there has been through anything similar and if you are familiar with any weight gain or symptoms of any of this.

Sorry for the long story, I am just looking for someone that understands and can offer me any information on if they gained weight or how they are affected. Thanks!
