Ever since i hernated L3-4-5..I cant walk normal anymore...It's a hard to walk a distance and people tell me that i dont walk I shuffle....I guess that would explain why I'm starting to trip more lately...I dont have drop foot..does anyone else shuffle?

Lorine,
I tend to "swing" my left leg out a bit when I'm in pain.
I had a discectomy of L3,L4-L5,S1 and a multi level A.L.I.F. in 2007. I've been "almost" tripping over my own feet for a while now. But like I said, it's mostly when I'm hurting which usually means I've over done it...worse after being up all day.
So glad to know it's not just me doing it. I love your term, "shuffle."
fellow shuffler,
me.

I didnt get surgery yet but ortho wants me to decide by may..She said get it or live like this...My pain management doc wants to refer me to a neuro...He thinks I'm too young and said yesterday that you cant undo it once its done so hes making me really scared and he said its not right for the ortho to give me that option..its a W/C case....I dont know what to do but I also want my legs back....dont know what to do...:(

lorine,
mine was a W/C situation too. I went 2 yrs before having the surgery. I had every test/treatment known to man. Not to mention the meds. I was told the same thing you are being told. I reached the point where morphine didn't even kill the pain... I wont even get into that, let's just say it's HELL.
I wish I'd had the surgery sooner, but I was told it was only worth the risk when I could no longer get from my bed to the bathroom, (I got there).
I was 43 when I had the surgery. I'm so much better, but not back to normal.
Good luck and keep me updated,
me

I walk funny now too. I don't pick up my feet when I walk. But my legs are always hurting because of the shooting pain and numbness in both of my legs. May I ask how old you are? I know I am young too. I am 28. I will probably have surgery this year. I was also told by my surgeon that once you cut you can't uncut. So I am trying everything to prolong surgery.
