Multiple Back/Neck Conditions now Falling & Balance Issues

Started by lanedepain on 03/27/2011 8:40pm

Old compression FX T-12, moderate to severe stenosis all 3 levels, severe stenosis at FX level. Old Reabsorbed extruded disk at C7-T1/2 which pressed on spine for months, scoliosis, neck & back spasms, weak now trembling legs, arm/leg pain. I have fallen many times this year, today I lost my balance and almost pulled the refrigerator over on me. The last spinal surgeon told me he would not know where to start. I am scared I am alone and recently was forced to retire. What is causing me to lose my balance? I understand stumbling from not picking up my feet high enough...ortho surgeon gives me nerve blocks and mild pain meds but thats it. I fractured my ankle last summer it just collapsed for no reason. What could be causing balance problems? Ortho is a WC physician, been patient many years, he did tell me I would eventually need surgery because I would lose the ability to walk, but no spinal surgeon seems to know where to start and a few have told me I'd be better off as is until I lost total bowel control or cannot walk. I'm afraid, really afraid I'm going to break my neck or hip falling before then.

Go see Doctor Todd ALbert of the Rothman institute in Philly. He's tops at this kind of thing.
