Neurostimulator not helping! Been through everything!

Started by jo4dolphins on 03/09/2011 11:52pm

I have had this in place since September 30, 2008 and have no relief with it at all, actually it has caused me more pain, because it protrudes through my skin and this has made me buy new clothes that will not sit over this unit in my back. I would like for someone to take it out but I don't have the money to have it removed and this was a workers compensation situation, so what am I to do? Take it out myself? I don't think so! Unless I get to the point where no one will help me, then maybe I will, since this world has become so crazy!!!!

Hi I wish they would wuit putting the Nuero Stimulators in people. Everyone I have talked to has said it makes them either itch really bad or makes the pain worse. I have a Pain Pump with Morphine and its a world of difference. I wouldn't be able to walk without it I think. I now take a B.C. Powder to controll the pain. along with the pump. They could change yours over in the same operation as they take the stimulator out and it would be a different world for you. It doesn't happen overnight because they have to bring the pressure up gradually. I am getting close too having mine completely adjusted and I had it put in on 12-23-2010. So about 3 months. They can also add some muscle relaxer in the pump at the same time for my shoulders which knot up bad. I will be recieving my remote controll for the pump next Monday and can give myself a boost if I have any breakthrough pain. Check into a pump it will help. I have 4 fusions in my neck, 2 in the lower lumber front and back. a messed up left leg from a deer broadsiding me on my bike about 8 months ago and a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. I also have Severe Degenerative Disc Desease, Orthrosis, stenosis, and a couple of other whatever they called it things in my back. I hope this helps you.

I too have a stimulator and it has not helped at all. My current pain management Dr. put me on the Fentanyl patch and it has helped the most... Your stim should have a warranty or something like that and if you look into that you may find a way to get someone to remove it at no cost yo you.......Just and idea... You would have to tell the dr that originally did the implant that it isn't working now

Hi , I have the trial stimulator and it did amsolutly nothing for my pain. While i was still under the rep from the company along with my pain doc inserted 2 rods in my back si- to l-2 with the leads coming out of my back to a box outside that i was told i was to control the pain with. It was a 4 day trial. hahahaha this man never returned my calls. The pain increased. The night before my pain doc appoinment he showed up at my house at 8:30P.M Depending where i stood in my house it would work. This wasn't for me. Next morning the doc took one look at me said lean over the table take a deep breath and pulled out the 2 18inch titanian leads that didn't do anything and said well there goes $10,000 down the drain . Sorry the trial went so badly for you. Needless the say this man doesn't work for the pain doc any more. MY next stop is a med pac BUT i can,t to that because I have problems with someof the pain meds out there so right now i have to stay with that i have,
In May the pain was unreal and i agreed to try staroids for a week PAIN OMG its the middle of June and it hasn;t eased up. THey want to do another RF but I have had my shave of them and no thanks. so My next appointment we will have to do some serious laying the cards on the table and discuss what my options are. I live in the North East and the weather is playing game right now. Something has to help i have neough meds and I can finally functuion I have 5 grandkids i want to share my life with There has to be somethingfor us . gb magicone
