Pins and needles, pain and tremors

Started by Tattoomacinearm on 08/17/2017 8:24am

In 2012 I had anterior discectomy on c5-c7. Over the past few months I've been getting progressively worsening pins and needles and pain and tremors in my right arm.
I also suffer from stage 3 neurological Lyme disease.
The pain is so severe that I can't sleep. I'm losing the strength in my right hand and fear I won't be able to do my job for much longer. Insurance is horrible. Can't afford another surgery or to be out of work at all. I can deal with the tremors but the pain is almost unbearable and I need long term
pain relief options that aren't going to kill me or destroy my stomach.

Hello, and thanks for your post. We are so sorry to read about the pain you've been experiencing. Your symptoms sound significant and neurological in nature, and we hate to think of your insurance provider or workplace preventing you from getting the care you need.

Our best advice is to talk to your doctor--whether that be your spine surgeon or perhaps another spine specialist--about possible options outside of surgery to help manage your pain. Have you spoken to the Customer Service professionals with your insurance provider to inquire more about your coverage as it relates to spine treatments? Are there therapies you need to prove that you tried and failed to get surgical coverage?

We'd also like to share our doctor finder tool: https://www.spineuniverse.com/locate/spe... . Perhaps getting a second opinion from a spine specialist in your area will help uncover a different treatment plan that fits with your lifestyle.

We hope this helps, and we wish you the very best of luck!
