Started by 102060525347849... on 07/12/2015 7:37am

I had fusion of the neck 2 wks ago c456 my. Arms shoulders and across my shoulders are burning like fire. I cannot hardly bear it. Dr says it's the nerves and muscle are healing. This pain is worse than before. Has anyone else experience this. I don't know what to do

Two weeks is a very short time in terms of recovery. Nerves take a relatively long time to heal, especially if they have been compressed for awhile. Try a heating pad to help soothe and relax the muscles. Take your pain meds!! Walk as much as you can ... this also helps take your mind off of the pain. Be sure you take muscle relaxants, too. I know I wanted to get off of meds as soon as I could, but your body and your brain need the assistance for a few weeks. You've been through a lot of pain for a lot of weeks/months/years prior to the surgery - it makes sense that it will take weeks to get back to a new normal, without the pain! Give yourself a break, treat yourself good - you deserve it!! Best wishes for a full and lasting recovery!

I had c567 fusion and still in pain after 6 yrs i really don't think the pain will go away and now i just had another mri on my neck and doc said it looks like a mess so now here i go again. H e said oh i am not saying you need another sugery but you need to see a neuro sergen again and i am like really not again so i really don't know what to say but just take it easy on yourself and ware your neck brace and don't move your neck a lot unless you have to thank and have a blessed life.
