L5-S1 Spinal Bone Fusion

Started by MaggieM on 09/12/2018 6:35pm

Hi Everyone,
Well I am quite freaked out right now! I had a spinal bone fusion 17 years ago due to a 3/4 slip (spondylolisthesis) and it was a horrible experience, but it did relieve my pain and numbness and I have pretty much pain free for a long time. Occasional back pain here and there, but I deal with it. I recently started to experience horrible pain, like my back is going to crack in half , numbness in my left foot, calves and feet are cramping, so I bit the bullet and had an xray done. Terrified of the results, I still asked the technician if could see the xray. My back is back to where it was 17 years ago. Many have said the screw broke, my does not look broken in the xray, but maybe like it has moved up. The vertebrate is rubbing on the on the one above it. If that makes any sense! I am juts wondering if anyone has experienced this. Next stop is the spine specialist. I AM TERRIFIED I AM GOING TO HAVE TO HAVE SURGERY AGAIN!!
