Hello, I have been suffering from L5-S1 disc prolapse and it is radiating to my left leg, sometimes I feel tingling sensation and numbness. I have consulted Neurosurgeon he advised me for transforamina injection or surgery. My age is 27 years and I really don't want to go for surgery. I want to know the complications which would get if I go for surgery and also It would be very very helpfull if anyone gives me other options than surgery. please need advice it would be very helpfull. Hi, fathima--thank you for your question! We have a lot of resources that we believe will help.

The first resource we would like to share is a blog written by one of the spine surgeons on our Editorial Board, Dr. Neel Anand: ( Spine Surgery Advice ). We think this is a great read for anyone who is considering spine surgery. Specifically, we thought this post might apply to your situation: ( When is Spine Surgery the Next Right Step? )

Another great resource is our Herniated Disc Condition Center: ( Herniated Disc Center ). From this link, you'll see a list of other links on the left side of the page that will take you to detailed information, including about non-surgical treatments.

Finally, this article provides a great overview of the most common treatments for herniated disc: ( Herniated Disc Treatment )

We hope this information is helpful to you, and we wish you the very best with whatever treatment path you choose.
