Pain post rod placement 7 years

Started by 762088572@facebook on 05/02/2017 11:50pm

I had a surgery in 2010. the dics were healthy and not taken out, but I had 10 foraminal openings made larger from l3-5 to S1-2 to make my nerve readings normal. The last rod set off all the nerve readings and it was not placed. I have a lopsided rod placement. & 7 years later I have had a severe nerve pain set off by stretching. Does anyone have any ideas about this. I have been drug free for 7 years and now tylenol takes away the pain, but it is very severe as soon as the Tylenol wears off.. Any help is appreciated.....

Hello, and thanks for sharing your post. We are sorry to hear about the pain you've recently experienced!

We're curious: When was the last spinal imaging scan you had (MRI, CT, x-ray)? Your doctor would likely need to order an imaging scan (or multiple scans) to get to the bottom of the pain you're describing. Have you contacted your doctor about your pain yet?

Please keep us posted on how you're doing and any information you find out. We wish you the best of luck!

After 3 weeks, the pain has mostly subsided. I think it was related to scar tissue around the rods and foraminal openings and nerves being aggravated.. the pain moved all thru the area and finally went away with rest , infrared lights and tylenol. What can you tell me about breaking down the scar tissue that might have formed from the surgery to place the rods?
