Hi, marlene61--thank you for your post! We completely understand your fears about spine surgery--it's a major medical procedure that warrants full consideration before moving forward.

To help you make the best choice for you, we encourage you to ask questions to your spine surgeon (you should feel like you can have an open and honest dialogue) and find out as much about the procedure as you can. If you need a place to start in terms of what questions to ask, we have a great resource for that ( Spine Surgery: Questions to Ask Your Doctor ).

We also recently published a blog post written by a spine surgeon that we think you may find helpful as you weigh what direction to take ( When is Spine Surgery the Next Right Step? ).

Keep us posted on what you decide. We wish you the very best of luck!
