Thoracic and Cervical herniation

Started by Loridee on 04/06/2016 5:37pm

Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum.
I was involved in a terrible car accident in 2007 on I 95. My car was struck by a drunk driver and the car rolled over multiple times and sustained many broken bones, but the worst of all of the injuries that still haunt me are the herniated discs in my cervical spine and Upper Thoracic spine. I am a nurse by profession and thankfully I do not do direct patient care as I have lost fine motor ability in my fingers, and strength in my hands, I have done every non surgical treatment available, and have recently and safely weaned off of all long acting opiates as the pain was terrible on them as well.
i am looking now for surgical options and have found wonderful surgeons that are wiling to fix my C Spine with fusion but I have not been able to find a surgeon that is performing the VATS Thoracic procedure for the repair of the Thoracic Myelopathy, with bilateral radiculopathies, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions on surgeons?
Currently I am working with a Physical medicine doctor, pain management doctor, medical massage, and acupuncture but the quality of my life is going downhill due to pain and loss of function.

Any help is great appreciated
Thank you so much
Lori
