Herniated Disc with lower back pain

Started by JayP1983 on 02/06/2016 10:12pm

Hi everyone,

Wanted to find out to see if anyone had a similar situation. I was diagnosed with herniated disc in 2011 and went through PT and Chiro to get better. However in December 2015 and January 2016, i had 2 sciatica episodes. I finally got an MRI done showing herniation on the disc above the L5 vertebrate .One neurosurgeon said that i need to do a spinal fusion but i'm scared of this and i am in my 30s and would rather avoid a surgery. I've been at home best rest, change my diet since then and have reduced the lower back pain but i get random tingling in my feet. The tingling is in both of my legs. It comes and goes. It seems whenever i'm not doing anything extraneous the tingling is gone however today i went to walk at a mall and when i came home the tingling in my legs started again. My lower back is still there but at level 3-4. My calf muscles were tight as i noticed it was harder for me to push the gas pedal.

Any idea?

I was in a car accident a few years ago. A women rear ended my car. Any how 3 of my lower dics. Were damaged one shattered one bulging and one herniated.. I had the fusion surgery and it went well..the recovery went by fast. With no PT..I was 47 and a smoker at the time. And my children were all under 9 years old...I was so scared like you...My advise is to have it done..take your life back..
