Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome

Started by dddinah on 12/29/2015 1:13am

Hi, I'm new here, but not new to lower back pain and DDD. I'm 75 years old and about 3 months ago the pain that is usually in my back seems to have migrated to both of the outer sides of my body, from hip to calf. It's a searing hot pain, which is affecting my walking, sleeping and just sitting.
I've read that this GTPS is often associated with back pain and/or osteo arthritis. I also have Fibromyalgia, which my doctor says is and entirely different issue.
Has anyone here had experience with this syndrome? I've been told that physiotherapy may help - the myriad of pain pills I'm on doesn't help it one bit.
I'd sure appreciate hearing from you regarding the treatment and management of this pain.
Thanks in advance for any info you may have, I appreciate your company.
