Back L5S1 Broken Hardware

Started by lclause66 on 11/10/2015 11:17am

I am having surgery on Thursday 11-12-15 to remove the hardware that is broken in my back that was done with my fusion in January 2013. I am nervous to say the least, however after reading other feedback it seems that the pain doesn't seem to magically go away and wanted to hear the good and bad experiences with this type of surgery on other patients who may have had this done. I also think you can't see of the fusion is completed without going in and looking for yourself? After MRI's CAT scans and xrays it was my pain doctor who was doing a back injection that noticed that screw broken in my cage, so thankfully he was able to see the actual problem and glad that I now have an answer for why my back pain never went away, the neurosurgeon who did my first procedure never sent me to PT which I thought was odd, but he's the doctor right?

This round I am using an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who is going to resolve the problem, hes looked at my tests over and over and has come up with a path forward, also have my pain doctor and primary care doctor all in line at the hospital to make sure that I am comfortable first with pain and that what he did in my back will be successful. I hope to have a positive answer for all of you soon, also a bone stimulater is on its way too unsure what that does or is but I guess I will soon find out.

Thank you for your feedback.
