Twisted Spine

Started by KitLynn on 04/29/2015 11:20am

I am 24 and was in a car wreck in 2008 and it twisted the lower half of my spine. I am in constant pain and a chiropractor wasn't able to help me.

My doctor just seems to ignore the problem no matter how many times I bring it up because I have other health problems that she would rather treat (i.e. hiatal hernia, depression and possible ehlers danlos syndrome that she is dragging her feet on). She seems convinced that the pain I'm in is all in my head. She won't even discuss treatment for it.

Heat and cold treatments as well as over the counter pain relievers only dull the pain a little. Nothing seems to really help.

Last night, my daughter (she's 3) grabbed my arm and used it to support all of her weight, pulling my shoulder out of place. Since then I've had pain going from my left shoulder to the base of my neck and then down my entire spine.

I have no idea what to do. There are no specialists in my area and we have limited transportation at the moment. The hospital in our town is a total joke that should have been closed down due to malpractice years ago. I refuse to go there for help.

That hospital is where I went right after my wreck. They did no tests and basically said "yeah, you'll be sore for a while" and sent me home. Five years later I had a xray done by the chiropractor and found out about my spine.

Is there any advice anyone could give?
