Help me please with this constant pain!

Started by LColburn on 02/10/2013 9:08am

I am only 45 years old and I feel 90. I wake up from pain in my neck, shoulders, arms, hands, every where really, every day of my life. It has gotten so bad that I don't drive unless it is absolutely necessary. I know I have carpal tunnel syndrome, and have been told that I either have fibromyalgia or osteoarthritis. I don't have the money to go to lots of doctors. I am going to try to find the one that may be able to help. I am currently on unemployment. Any advise??? I do have bc/bs insurance but still have the co-pays.

You know, I just feel like such a hrpochondriac! I am always complaining and appologizing fo how I feel. Doctors treat me like I want drugs and I actually have quit taking the stuff cause I don't like the feeling. Checking to see today if my insurance will pay a physiatrist, don't know what else to do. Good luck to you and let's keep each other posted on results. Thank you for replying, I feel uterly invisible!

I hate to be a kill-joy but you could have fibromyalgia AND osteoarthritus..I do. After many years of dealing with chronic pain, I have been prescribed many many many different medications. I disliked the tricyclics, the anti -seizure and anti-depressant meds due to their horrible side affects. My pain Doctor most recently put me on Robaxcin (methocarbamol) It's a non narcotic muscle relaxer that has worked wonders for the fibromyalgia, although they will want to keep an eye on how your liver handles it for awhile, and it doesn't take away the osteoarthritis and or nerve pain as well..Good luck and God Bless!
P.S. You may want to try joining a chronic pain support group, or start one of your own, sometimes hearing and /or helping others in need gets my mind off of my own pain too.
