Chronic back pain

Started by Richie on 10/16/2012 2:46am

Hi my name is Richard and I am 24 and I ruptured my L4-L5 L5-S1 disc at work and had a microdiscectomy. After the operation i regain use of my right leg but now i have Disc Degeneration at both levels, Lumbar Spondylosis, Synovial Cyst, Facet Arthropathy, and Annular Tear at both levels. I'm in so much pain it shoots from my hip threw my butt and down my right led my caves feel so weak that it is hard to continue living this way and as i'm told it will only get worse over time. I don't know what the future has in store for me but if it is much worse than this i don't know what to do. Winter is just around the corner and i'm dreading it the cold it chills me to the bone and cause everything from the wast down to ache so much. After I settle with workers comp i will no longer receive medical care(in Arkansas I don't have a choice to keep it) and im scared about that along with me returning to work i'm scared that I won't be able to find work willing to abide to my restrictions. I just dont know what to do and I scared to death i need so much help and support.

hi ritchie first off dont settle with workmans comp. I dont know what kind of a job you had .but if you had all that repaired in your back and fused how can you work at all. did your surgeon say about working.? I wont be able to work again. I cant bend over the way I use to I have to get down on 1 knee. You should talk to a attorney before you sign your life away. good luck.

I do have an attorney and settling is the only option i have since the insurance company is refusing for any further treatments my job was factory assembly line work and my dr said that if I was to return back that i was guaranteed to re-rupture my disc he advised me to go to school for something like pc repair but i don't have money to go to school i don't know what to do

Richie, Whatever you do, Don't settle! They will tell you that you have to, but you don't! I believed that garbage too! I didn't get near what I deserved! To top it all off, I am recovering from a second surgery to fix the first that the W/C dr screwed up! I really got hit and hit hard! In the mean time, I would go ahead and file for disability. Good Luck!
