thoracolumbar junction

Started by fusionx3 on 08/19/2011 2:03pm

Hi.

I've had three unsuccessful lumbar spinal fusions to correct a grade 4 spondy with sciatica. Pain is manageable most of the time. I wear a very restrictive brace and rely on medications to be able to function. I work full time and feel lucky that I'm able to do so. About six months ago, I developed "new pain". This is making bending, lifting even standing almost unbearable. This pain seems to come around the front to the groin and down my left thigh (what used to be my "good leg". I can't describe it other than to say it knocks the wind out of me. Looking for answers, I came across a few sites that talked about an issue with the point where the lumbar and thoracic spine join. The descriptions seem to fit. Has anyone ever heard or had experience with anything like this? I am looking for insight.
Thanks in advance.
Laura
