Scar tissue build up and optional surgery

Started by back_pak10 on 11/09/2010 4:37pm

Hello fellow spine patients,

I had a discetomy/laminectomy L4-L5. I was advised about a procedure which he would insert screws and a rod into back, not fusion, and clear some more bone to decompress the nerve (forget what the name of the procedure is). No significant pain but still have foot drop issue. Does anyone have experience with this procedure and similar problem they can provide some input. I know the nerve can take up to a year or two to heal and without a full recovery from the optional surgery, I am hesitant to go through another surgery.
