Bed for anklosing spondelutis

Started by Bukowiecki on 01/16/2018 2:23pm

Hi, I'm looking to change beds. Im 43 and have had AS for 20 years. I have a waterbed currently and it has been the best one I've found so far. I exclusively lay on my side so I am currently flipping many times each night. I'm looking to try a new bed soon. I understand i should be looking for something firm and I'd like some advice a from anyone who would like to share. Thanks Tom

Hi, Tom--thanks for posting this question! We have several resources that may help guide you toward a great mattress:

I have a numbers bed ~ can't say it is the best bed, but it sure beats a traditional one with springs.

I prop pillows behind me so I don't roll and a pillow between my legs to keep my spine as straight as possible. To include a good pillow for my neck ~ it is very important to try and keep your spine as straight as possible when sleeping, or what I call "almost sleeping". I hope this helps a little. :)
