Injections Steroids for Lower Back Pain

Started by 598247568@facebook on 08/28/2012 9:43pm

Hi, in May I had my 3rd Steroid Injection for Spinal stenosis, and my leg is so stiff and I can hardly walk. The first one I had was 2007 and it lasted till this year and worked like a charm, but the last two have really not gotten the results I was hoping for. Does anyone here have any suggestions. Those injections are not cheap and my insurance doesn't pay for them so I really need some feedback on anyone that has had a similar problem. Thanks

I can't even begin to tell you how many injections I had (most only worked for a week to a month). Two weeks ago I had a spinal cord stimulator put in, its been a miracle, I could barely walk prior to the surgery....the low back pain is all but gone, foot pain too, and the sciatic pain is better (60%). I was facing my third back surgery (3 level fusion). My Neuro surgeon as well as my Orthopedic surgeon talked me into the SCS. If more doctors would prescribe this to their patients there would be no need for Pain Management doctors or heavy duty drugs to mask the pain.
